Asset Types & Formats Supported in Auto FGD

This article outlines the different asset types and file formats that are compatible with Auto FGD.

Written by Harshad

Auto-FGD supports the following asset types as stimuli:

Images

  • Formats: PNG, JPG, JPEG

  • Maximum file size: 7 MB each

Videos

  • Format: MP4

  • Maximum 5 videos per study

  • Maximum file size: 100 MB each

  • Maximum duration: 180 seconds

Text There are two ways to add text assets:

  • Add Text button — click the Add Text button to open a modal, paste your text directly into it, and save. The platform stores it as a text asset for the study.

  • Attach Documents — upload a .txt file from your system the same way you would upload an image or video.

  • Maximum 5 text assets per study

  • Maximum 10,000 total words across all text assets combined

  • Built-in word counting, validation, and limit checks shown in the UI

Overall asset limits:

  • Maximum 10 assets per study across all types combined, up to 5 of which can be video

  • Maximum combined size across all uploaded assets: 300MB. Once your uploads reach this combined total, the platform blocks further uploads — even if you haven't reached the 10-asset count limit yet.

  • Example combinations: 5 videos + 5 images, or 2 videos + 4 images + 4 text assets, or 10 text assets

  • Fewer assets are allowed but cannot exceed these limits

Note: The 300MB combined-size cap is often the tighter constraint in practice. Five videos at the 100MB-each maximum would total 500MB — well over the 300MB cap — so a video-heavy set will usually hit the size limit before it hits the 10-asset count limit.

Mixed media: Images, videos, and text can be combined in a single study.

Design tip: Keep visuals clear with minimal text overlays for better AI comprehension.
